"I've seen the original character depiction SNK used in their Japanese promotional art for the game and rather than make her a full grown woman, I made her into a kid. This way, she looks closer to how she looks in the actual video game. And I thought it would be funnier if this cute little girl ran around with this hugenormous metal mallet. The fat orange monster guy's funny too.
